Direct Wire & Cable Inc. Production Operator (2nd Shift) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Job description

Direct Wire & Cable is currently seeking a Production Operator to join our team! As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in our operations at the Lancaster facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect materials before boxing to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Ensure correct material selection based on work orders and bill of materials (BOM).
  • Determine appropriate box sizes based on product specifications.
  • Apply customer labels accurately to each box.
  • Identify and label materials on the exterior of the box.
  • Operate tow motors and high lifts as needed for material handling.
  • Master the use of RiteScan functions for labeling products during processing, storage, or shipping.
  • Execute issue/receipt transactions and transfer materials from bin locations.
  • Collaborate with team members and assist in cross-training efforts.
  • Prioritize safety by adhering to environmental, health, and safety (E.H.S) procedures.
  • Uphold quality standards by ensuring accurate material identification and proper packaging.
  • Report any deviations or quality issues promptly to the Production Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to operate material movement and packaging equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret routine instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
