SECHAN ELECTRONICS INC EHS Specialist in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining a comprehensive environmental, health and safety program to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and program compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.

Position Responsibilities: •  Implement, manage and monitor the company's environmental, health and safety policies and procedures that meet OSHA standards and other applicable requirements •  Continually monitor the performance and effectiveness of the company's policies and procedures and implement adjustments / improvements as needed •  Serve as an advisor for managers and employees in all environmental, health and safety regulatory requirements •  Coordinate and/or conduct employee safety training and ensure compliance with OSHA and industry specific requirements •  Serve as Radiation Safety Officer and oversee all industrial hygiene testing and monitoring as required •  Work with vendors to ensure compliance and improve safety initiatives (hazardous waste collection / disposal, etc) •  Maintain documentation and records as required by OSHA and other applicable agencies •  Create and facilitate a culture of safety to engage and foster employee ownership of the safety program •  Assist with site safety and environment compliance programs and requirements •  Chair the company safety committee and maintain certified safety committee status •  Collaborate with all departments to ensure safety procedures are integrated into business processes •  Manage the company's workers compensation program and applicable reporting •  Investigate near misses, injuries, and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective measures where needed •  Performs other duties as assigned to support business goals and objectives.

Qualifications: •  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent. •  4+ years of experience managing EHS initiatives •  OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire •  Experience working in a hand assembly manufacturing facility or similar environment •  Experience working in multi-shift operations

Work Environment: •  Office Environment:  Requires physical capability to work in an office environment including sit/stand up to 9 hours a day and use basic office tools such as a computer, copier/printer, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. •  Hours: 1st Shift; with additional hours as needed to meet demand. Occasional off-shift hours may also be required to provide support to operations. •  9/80 work schedule. •  Occasional travel may be required. •  Office located in Lititz, PA, with occasional visited to Lancaster facility.
