Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Assembly Work:

  • Build security doors based on drawings, work instructions, and electrical schematics.
  • Use power tools and hand tools to assemble door components.
  • Measure parts accurately to ensure proper fit.
  • Apply cosmetic cladding as required by customer orders.
  • Pull material and stage for various levels of assembly operations.
  • Mechanically adjust as needed to insure proper door operation.
  • Set up and operate equipment to drill and tap as needed.
  • Maintain all inventory processes, labor, material, and product tracking.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Quality Control, Inspection, and Safety:

  • Inspect sub-components and assembled products for any defects or non-compliance to prints; Document as required per the quality system.
  • Visually inspect all products for defects per specifications.
  • Ensure that safety protocols are followed while in the facility.
  • Report all safety concerns to supervision immediately.

Loading and Packing:

  • Load finished assemblies into crates with the proper subcomponents and document crate contents as required.
  • Label / mark completed crates as required for proper identification and shipping.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with mechanical assembly

* Technical Skills:*

  • Solid understanding of proper assembly procedures, mechanical aptitude, and of machinery and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of strapping and rigging for use of overhead cranes.
  • Ability to understand dimensions in both Metric and Imperial.
  • Ability to understand and convert dimensions between decimals and fractions.

Safety Awareness:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.
  • Ability to stand / walk / work on a concrete floor for 10 hours per day.
  • Good physical stamina (lifting heavy equipment) and ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate machinery in a safe and controlled manner.

Job Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills.
  • Follow all Harden policies and procedures regarding safety and quality.
  • Complete all necessary process documentation as required.
  • Work within a team environment.

Physical Environment:

Functions in a live production environment much of the time. Work requires the ability to walk the production floor and other areas of the manufacturing facility; position requires good physical fitness and an understanding of appropriate lifting techniques and tool safety. May need to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. Excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. The environment has moderate noise levels and fluctuating temperatures associated with equipment, production machines, and equipment.
