Weyerhaeuser Harvest and Transportation Manager in Lancaster, New Hampshire

Weyerhaeuserhas a unique opportunity for a candidate with strong leadership and technical capabilities. The Harvest & Transportation Manager is a supervisory role with a focus on planning, harvest, transportation, and contract administration on approximately 100,000 acres of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Western Maine Timberland. As the Harvest & Transportation Manager, you will also lead safety and business improvements for all operations on this land base. You will work in close coordination with multiple internal and external stakeholders to achieve safety, environmental, silviculture, quality, and production goals.

This position is a part of the New England Region in the Northern Timberlands business and will have up to 3 direct reports. This is a salaried, exempt position located in the Lancaster, NH office and reports to the Area Manager.

Key Functions

  • Role model our Vision of delivering superior safety and environmental performance
  • Establish strong working partnerships with all internal and external stakeholders including regulatory agencies, easement holders, industry counterparts, direct reports, loggers, and hauling contractors
  • Provide organizational leadership through goal setting, mentoring, and performance management
  • Provide an avenue for direct reports and other team members to grow and develop
  • Identify and execute key opportunities for improvement that will drive the future success of the Lancaster Team
  • Negotiate business transactions and build long-term relationships with quality logging and hauling contractors
  • Establish area planning, harvesting and transportation strategies
  • Lead and monitor contractor productivity, health tracking and relationships
  • Build and forecast harvesting & transportation financial budgets (annually, quarterly, monthly)
  • Maintain and mentor Day-Rate Model tools and features with the Lancaster Team
  • Use and encourage innovation to address system challenges to optimize contractor productivity and internal workflow efficiency
  • Fulfill customer commitments and develop strong working relationships with key strategic customers

  • Bachelors degree (or higher) in Forestry or related field and a minimum 5 years' related job experienceOR**equivalent in education/experience
  • Operational experience in project management and contract administration on a large scale
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
  • Proactive safety leader with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven track record of collaborative decision making and relationship building

Compensation:This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $94,977 - $142,465 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement:Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation:We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
