Lamar Community College Coordinator Of Accounts Payable & Accounting Services in Lamar, Colorado

This position is responsible for the coordination of the administration of comprehensive accounts payable processes. Must possess strong accounting and clerical background and have solid attention to detail. Requires an individual to understand accounting functions and make necessary adjustment. Coordinates accounts payable, payroll, CORE journal entries and travel. Responsible for purchasing activities for the college to include Purchase Orders, Procurement Cards, new vendor setup, processing monthly and biweekly payrolls accurately efficiently and timely. Requires technical knowledge pertaining to federal, state, institutional/private programs, and regulations; significant interpersonal skills; verbal and written communication skills; the ability to interact with a wide range of professional DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the Accounts Payable data entry and weekly check run process. Verify all Vendors in the STARS and PERA Websites, complete monthly reporting, compile, complete the process for all PERA retiree reporting, quarterly 1099, including the FARWHLY checklist and vendor analysis reports. Create current and past due invoices for various billing and reconcile payments in QuickBooks. Administer, train yearly on PCard and Travel Card for all card holders. Manage, Review Audit all travel expense reports, travel advances, travel authorization, audit review and reallocate monthly travel card statements. Prepare monthly cash and credit card reports. Data input of journal entries in Banner. Maintain all invoicing to outside entities. Responsible for all purchasing activities in the business office, create Solicitations in the State CORE system and post accounting documents in CORE as created by the Controller. Process all bids and awards in CORE. Serve as backup for purchase order entry. Responsible for processing, monitoring, and reviewing monthly and biweekly payrolls and timesheets. Ensures the payroll office adheres to biweekly and monthly payroll deadlines and updates reconciliation documents and payroll reports before, during and after payroll to ensure accuracy. Responsible for all data entry and approval of FLAC assignments, manages the Imprest check process. Provide support, both general and service based for payroll as needed. Assists the Controller with completion of data requests from staff and or the system office, as well as assisting the Controller with special projects, year-end close activities and financial audits. Monitor recommendations for improving internal control based on System recommendations.

WAGE: $45,000 - $47,000 Annually

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree in Accounting or Business and a minimum of 1 year accounting experience. 5 years of accounting experience may equal an associate degree. Demonstrated ability to communicate professional, strong clerical skills, able to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or Business Administration. Banner experience is preferred.
