QuickStaff Master Carpenter in Lakewood Ranch, Florida

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload and gather materials for carpenters to handle on job sites.
  • General to advanced knowledge of cutting wood to dimensions.
  • Hold wood boards in place for fastening or cutting.
  • Drill holes or pound nails in board to fasten.
  • Assist in installing trim, cabinets, building, and installing.
  • Smooth and sand surfaces using manual and power sanders.
  • Finishing work, such as filling in gaps with caulking.
  • Cleaning surfaces to prep for painting.
  • Painting with both brush and spray gun.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years' experience in this type of job role.
  • Requisite knowledge of tools, equipment, materials common to the trade.
  • Hardworking, fast-paced, and takes direction well.
  • Willingness to ask questions and learn quickly.
  • Understands that the customer is the #1 priority.
  • Respectful, friendly, and professional.
  • Reliable and accountable.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Active driver's license.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate as well as 1-2 years of both construction and carpentry experience.
  • Must have a basic understanding of carpentry and be able to follow directions.
  • Excellent stamina, accountability, eagerness to learn, communication skills and and follow direction.

Physical requirements include bending, climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds throughout your shift.

Usual hours will be from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional opportunities for overtime. Paid vacation provided after 12 months of employment. Tools and Equipment Highly encourage use of own tools but not mandatory. All heavy equipment will be provided on the job site.

* Interested candidates in the Assistant Carpenter position will need to provide experience within the last 1-2 years, provide companies and references, list specialty skill sets, and providing website link or photos of completed projectsConstruct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood and comparable materials, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; and wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors. May also install cabinets, siding, drywall, and batt or roll insulation. Includes brattice builders who build doors or brattices (ventilation walls or partitions) in underground passageways.
