Responsibilities and Expectations: The Quality Manager is responsible for driving the responsibility for quality to all levels of the organization.Traditional quality practices have dictated a culture of inspection.The Quality Manager will implement new systems, new processes, and lean manufacturing techniques that result in an organization totally focused on quality. Responsibilities may include: Lead change and eliminate waste through process improvement initiatives. Implement process change that moves quality responsibility and accountability to the lowest organizational level. Understand and implement quality processes required by commercial and governmental customers. Maintain and keep up to date with the latest ISO 9000 procedures. Conduct internal quality audits. Conduct supplier quality audits. Generate supplier non-conformances when necessary. Support Nuclear program quality requirements. Facilitate customer quality audits. Facilitate ISO audits & respond to findings. Maintain all calibration records. Maintain and update company-wide quality metrics. Ensure corrective actions are in place prior to shipment. Lead employee-driven preventive action events designed to eliminate NCR's. Review customer contracts, PO's and statement of work to verify compliance. Train personnel to applicable quality requirements. Review new technical/quality instructions or procedures for compliance within the quality system. Determine and evoke quality hold points. Authorize & initiate all warranty work orders when appropriate. Adhere to all company policies. Observe all safety procedures and policies and use proper protective equipment (especially eye, and ear protection and steel toe shoes/boots, gloves, etc.). All other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Competencies: Bachelor's degree; Industrial Engineering degree preferred or closely related degree..MBA is a plus. 3-5 years experience in an operations role in a traditional manufacturing plant is required. 3-5 years' leadership experience in a quality role. Computer proficiency in working on Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook programs Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access programs. Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Participates in meetings. Ability to write clearly and informatively; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information.
