Primary Job Function The Production Manager will be responsible for the effective management and coordination of production activities across multiple production departments. This role involves overseeing the entire production process, from raw material intake to finished product delivery, while ensuring optimal utilization of resources, adherence to quality standards, driving continuous improvement efforts and compliance with safety regulations. Description of Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage a team of skilled operators within multiple production departments while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Allocate resources effectively to optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime. Develop and implement efficient production processes, workflows, and best practices to meet quality and production targets. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and increase overall process efficiency. Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure that graphite products meet industry and company standards. Work with the Quality Department to investigate and resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures. Collaborate with the production planning and scheduling teams to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing resource allocation. Monitor and adjust production schedules to accommodate changing customer demands. Liaise with other departments, such as maintenance, engineering, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations and resolve cross-functional issues. Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of dept. equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency. Maintain accurate records of department activities, process data, and production metrics. Prepare and present regular reports on department performance and key performance indicators. Ensure proper training and documentation on new processes and equipment. Manage cross-training within department and maintain proper training/documentation. Setting up and/or changing: Item Masters, Bill of Materials, and Routings. Ensure a culture of behavior-based safety by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines in all activities, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. Knowledge and Skills Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in materials, mechanical, or industrial engineering is a plus. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in materials fabrication. Prior experience in chemical process management is a plus. Proven leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing and motivating teams. Solid understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety standards. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement data-driven process improvements. Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills. Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Working Conditions Non climate-controlled factory environment, along with climate-controlled office or lab environment; Concrete flooring that may be slippery at times due to graphite.
