At our Fortune 1000 diversified energy company, you’ll find a friendly, community-minded environment, with flexible work schedules, opportunities for growth and development, and competitive pay and benefits.New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking a Field Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and control all daily operating activities as they relate to managing our distribution system.Major Responsibilities:Ensures the proper and efficient scheduling, performance, and completion of system maintenance and repair to provide thecontinuing integrity of the division distribution system.Ensures leak surveys are conducted in the proper manner with trained personnel, and as scheduled to meet compliance.Ensures all paperwork associated with leak survey is evaluated and current.Make necessary recommendations for pipe replacement or areas that should be cathodically protected.Assures that the division field personnel are provided with all necessary tools, materials, supplies, and equipment, and that thetools and equipment are properly maintained.Provides day-to-day supervision in the field and all clerical functions.Schedules and directs the deployment of division personnel to cover the needs of the territory.Assures the prompt and effective handling of appropriate emergency work requests, which involve possible danger to life andproperty.Assures the security and proper maintenance of all company buildings and property located at the division service center.Maintain O&M and Capital expenditures within or below approved budget.Maintain overtime according to the approved budgeted plan.Organize and adjust the daily workflow.Work with team members to develop ways of performing work better, faster, and more efficiently for continuous improvement.Calculate costs of doing business and cost out alternatives for services provided.Commit to coaching team members and providing feedback in developing technical skills and maintaining safe practices on thejob.Ensure the timely completion of all required compliance work.Position Specifications:A bachelor or associate degree in engineering or related field is preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience in a public utility operations or related field, or the combined equivalent of education and experience.Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with personnel at all levels.Knowledge of JDE work order system is a plus.Experience with union work rules and contracts is a plus.* The above job description is reflective of the primary duties of this position and in no way limits the supervisor from assigning any other duties, responsibilities or initiatives as deemed necessary.This position is deemed safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s regulations.
