Martin Marietta Materials, Inc Laborer - Shop in Lakewood, Colorado

Note: This position is under the Laborers International Union No, 720. Applicant will be required to join Union Local.

Position Summary

This position involves various manual tasks including, but not limited to, the following: pressure washing, cleaning; sweeping; lifting, organizing, moving repair parts, snow removal, empty trash cans, some yard maintenance and unloading deliveries. Willingness to operate forklift a small loader or skid steer as needed for cleanup around the shop.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
  • Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in repair projects
  • Assists in keeping the maintenance shop free of debris or safety hazards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills
  • Perform well in a "TEAM" environment
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  • Willing to work hours that are associated to the asphalt industry, including overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
  • Valid driver license is required
  • Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements & Conditions

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noise
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of material

Compensation We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is$21.89+. Membership with the Laborers International Union No, 720 is required upon hire. Condition and terms of employment and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
