Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Family Caregiving Services

What You'll Do We are looking for a caring, compassionate person to provide support to a family caregiver in the home with one client for approximately 5 hours on Saturday afternoons and 6 hours on Sunday afternoons.

Part-time position supporting a family caregiver in the home with one client Support the individual, ensuring that services and support are provided in a manner that respects and acknowledges the individual's self-expression, self-worth, self-reliance, and decision-making Encourages a culture of collaboration with individuals receiving services, their loved ones, and other support teams Works continuously to improve services and support using a person-centered approach Provide support with personal care, including hands-on support of the individual such as transferring them, changing adult diapers, and cleaning private areas May provide other support such as homemaking, mentorship, grocery shopping, budgeting, and household tasks Comply with PPCH policies and the rules and regulations of State and Federal oversight agencies Successfully complete required training, including annual refresher, according to established timelines Attends PPCH team meetings as needed or requested Other duties as assigned

Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required Successful completion of the training provided is required Proficiency using Microsoft Office or other similar software Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effective listening skills, even when non-traditional communication is used Ability to work independently and utilize problem-solving skills Skill and ability to constructively receive and provide feedback Ability and willingness to learn PPCH operations and systems Valid driver's license and ability to meet PPCH's driving requirements

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Work is often performed in a private home or in the community and occasionally performed in a typical office setting Frequent lifting and carrying of approximately 15 pounds This position involves physically assisting others, including pushing or pulling individuals using wheelchairs, transferring individuals with mobility needs, and assisting with daily living skills and lifting, moving, or transferring up to 75 pounds Driving throughout the Denver Metro area may be required regularly
