Description of Job

The Division of Gaming is hiring someone who is a self-starter in ourLakewood Office.The professional in this position provides support to the Deputy Director in the Sports Betting/Fantasy Sports/Games section performing administrative and operational duties.

Assistant to the Chief of Investigations/Deputy Director (Sports Betting):

  • The Sports Betting Operations Coordinator serves as the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Investigations - Deputy Director of Sports Betting and Fantasy Sports programs, performing administrative and operational tasks.
  • The person in this position uses judgment on which issues come to the Chief or are assigned to othersenior staff. The individual coordinates communications with the Chief and other staff, other divisions, or outside parties.
  • Coordinator assists the Chief with special project assignments as needed and assists the Agents in Charge as needed and upon request.
  • Coordinates business including scheduling of meetings, development of agendas, collection and distribution of materials, and preparation of minutes if needed.

Sports Betting Reporting and Data Management:

  • The Sports Betting Operations Coordinator retrieves daily reports from approximately 30 Sports BettingOperators, Internet Operators and Master Licensees, related to sports betting wagering, integrity concerns and/or suspicious betting issues.
  • The position interacts with representatives from these businesses to ensure the accuracyand timely reporting of sports wagering.
  • The position will enter the data into division programs to report totals to the Director and Deputy Directorto report to stakeholders and media.

Sports Betting Complaints Intake Coordinator:

  • Serves as the Sports Betting Patron Complaint Intake Coordinator monitoring patron complaints and the responses from the Sports Betting Operators daily. The patrons can submit complaints about what/how the Sports Betting Operator (licensee) handled something and then we seek a response from the Sports Betting Operator to see if this meets our expectations/rules and resolves the situation or if we need to investigate further.
  • The Sports Betting Patron Complaint Intake Coordinator monitors patron complaints and the responses from the Sports Betting Operators daily.

Human Resources Liaison:

  • Coordinates with upper-level management and OHR liaison with the implementation of the Division's staffing plan, ensuring proper documentation is submitted for the various positions allocated within the Division.
  • Maintains the tracking and organization of all employee files for the Division.Manages the processing of paperwork for new or vacant positions as well as worker comp and LWOP issues that are submitted to the HR Office.
  • The position acts as the Liaison between the Department of Revenue Human Resources office and the Division of Gaming. The person in this position initiates requisitions in NeoGov contacts applicants for interviews, background documents, and further evaluations such as physical and psychological evaluations for POST certified applicants

Property Management and Facilities Management:

  • The person in this position will be the main contact with the property management office. He or she willcoordinate maintenance, modification, and repair of the division's physical facilities with the propertymanagement office, outside vendors, and other business associates as needed.
  • Position will ensure compliance with all DOR Facilities and property management policies andprocedures.

Procurement:

  • Position is tasked with entering data into Core for purchasing various items or servicesfor the Sports Betting section.
  • Position is responsible for the allocation of purchases made on the state procurement card.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience:

Must meet one of the following or any combination of experience/education to meet the qualifications:

OPTION 1:

  • 6 yearsprofessional level experience supporting leadership.

OR

OPTION 2:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business, or a closely related field as determined by the Department.

AND

2 years of professional level experience supporting leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

State experience in a general clerical role.
