Heavy Haul Truck Driver

Move construction equipment and other related equipment to/from construction and commercial projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

General education, GED or high school diploma or equivalent.

Must have a valid CDL Class A.

Minimum 2 years driving experience driving a haul truck, lowboy is preferred.

Previous experience with multi-axle tractor-trailer and 10 axle low-boy is preferred.

Familiarity with the operation of construction equipment is preferred.

Must be able to pass medical and physical requirements and acceptable driving record and required endorsements.

Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  1. Driver will operate a truck that pulls a flat bed trailer equipped to transport construction equipment to and from job sites.

  2. Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections.

  3. Driver will be required to measure load height, length and width.

  4. Driver will be required to tie down equipment using chains and binders.

  5. Perform other duties as needed.

  6. Timely and regular attendance is essential.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Driver is required to have a working knowledge of DOT required hauling permits and federal and CA state laws that regulate the road freight transport industry.

  2. Driver is to have an operational knowledge of all construction equipment to be transported and be able to load and unload equipment from low-boy trailer.

  3. Need positive attitude, strong self-directed work ethic and the ability to work well with others / follow detailed directions.

  4. The ability to work long, irregular hours, and to remain focused throughout.

  5. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  6. Be able to work in all weather conditions for extended period of time.
