The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Lake Wales
· AdventHealth Lake Wales is a licensed 160-bed hospital, with 24-hour emergency care and outpatient services including imaging, rehab, lab and wound care, that has been serving the community and surrounding areas.
· As a part of the AdventHealth network patients will have greater access to a wide range of innovative therapies, new research, leading-edge technology and an extensive team of medical specialists.
· Lake Wales is located in Central Florida in between Orlando and Tampa and is home to the Historic Bok Tower Gardens and Bird Sanctuary.
The role you’ll contribute:
The ED Tech assists with direct patient care, including vital signs, personal hygiene, dietary needs, ambulation, for all age populations. Skills performed include EKGs, wound care, ortho splinting, and blood draws. The care is rendered under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse. Reports to the Charge Nurse and ED Director.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
· Safely provides care to emergency department patients, including therapies and interventions (including but not limited to splinting, application of orthopedic devices, foley insertion, and vital signs etc.).
· Thoroughly and legibly documents in the record all therapies and interventions
· Performs accurate patient education and appropriate documentation (crutch walking, splint care etc).
· Communicates effectively. Establishes and maintains two way communication with peers, staff, physicians and administration.
· Adapts to change in a positive manner.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· High School Graduate or equivalent. Must be able to read, comprehend medical terminology, and communicate effectively with others.
· Certification as a Florida CNA, PCT, EMT preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Current BLS certification required at start date.
· ACLS preferred
