    Senior BSA Job Description

    We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our Procurement team. The Senior BSA will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying requirements, and designing solutions to support procurement Strategy, Operations, and initiatives. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and IT partners to drive the successful implementation of procurement technology transformation program and processes.

    Senior BSA Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with procurement stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives.

  • Analyze and document current procurement processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.

  • Develop technical/nonfunctional requirements to facilitate technology selection RFP.

  • Develop comprehensive business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications for procurement system enhancements and projects.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT architecture standards.

  • Partner with procurement stakeholders to define and prioritize project scope, deliverables, and timelines.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on procurement systems and processes, serving as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and project teams. Specific sub-process areas being Demand Intake, Sourcing, CLM, Supplier lifecycle and Risk Management.

  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) efforts, coordinating test plans, scripts, and execution to ensure solutions meet business requirements.

  • Facilitate training and change management activities to support the adoption of new procurement systems and processes.

  • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues, proactively identifying and addressing potential roadblocks.

    Senior BSA Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with a focus on procurement systems and processes.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex procurement projects on time and within budget.

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, including sourcing, contract management, supplier management, and purchasing .

  • Experience with procurement software platforms such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or Ivalua.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.

    Senior BSA REQUIREMENTS

  • Business Analysis: Strong proficiency in business analysis techniques such as requirement elicitation, documentation, and validation.

  • Senior BSAs should be adept at understanding Source to Pay business processes (That includes Demand Intake, Sourcing, CLM, Supplier Mgmt., and Req to receive) identifying requirements, and translating them into actionable solutions.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced technical skills are essential for Senior BSAs, including knowledge of various software development methodologies, database management systems, and understanding of system architectures.

  • They should be able to effectively communicate with technical teams and bridge the gap between business and IT.

  • Problem-Solving: Senior BSAs should possess excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues, analyze root causes, and propose effective solutions.

  • They should be able to think critically and creatively to address complex business challenges and drive continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder management skills are crucial for Senior BSAs to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. This includes building and maintaining relationships, managing expectations, and facilitating productive collaboration to achieve project objectives.

  • Leadership and Mentorship: As senior members of the team, Senior BSAs should demonstrate leadership qualities and the ability to mentor and guide junior analysts. They should provide guidance, support, and mentorship to help develop the skills of others while also leading by example in their own work.
