Intertek, a Nationally Recognized Testing Lab (NRTL) and leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification) Services, is looking for a Quality Manager to join our Electrical team in California. Intertek's Electrical team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification for a variety of electric products, including appliances, consumer electronics, lighting, medical devices, information communications technology, HVACR, industrial, and energy transmission and distribution. What are we looking for?

This Quality Manager position is responsible for quality activities in MPK & LAF Laboratories, management of accreditations for those sites & CB Scheme/NCB Support activities.

The base wage or salary range for this position is $85K - $100K . Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the quality management system (QMS) in compliance with established standards.

  • Analyze and monitor quality performance metrics and prepares reports.

  • Implement audits and inspections to ensure quality standards and identify areas for improvement.

  • Assure continuous quality improvement by addressing issues and deficiencies efficiently and communicating concerns.

  • Document and investigate root cause analysis for complaints and deviations.

  • Maintain relationships with organizations to facilitate accreditations/approvals related to laboratories and certification schemes

  • Implement audits to ensure compliance with accreditor / regulator / scheme requirements

  • Facilitate / host assessments by external bodies and coordinates responses to audit findings

  • Participate as an active member of the Quality Advisory Board

  • Develop standard operating procedures, work instructions, forms, and local operating procedures

  • Qualify, appoint, and indirectly oversee local Quality Supervisors

  • Report audit findings to appropriate management with request for root cause analysis and corrective action

  • Review and approve root cause and correction action plan. Perform follow up as needed

  • Close out and maintain audit files

  • Prepare and submit required monthly reports to the Director of Quality

  • Represent Intertek during 3rd part audits/assessments

  • Advise management on training and implementation needs

  • Monitor, control, and consult in support of compliance and continuous improvement efforts

  • Audit and qualify subcontractor service providers

  • Participate in and support periodic quality system management review

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering

  • 2+ years’ experience in quality assurance or operations

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific, technical, and engineering reports, standards and journals

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written format

  • Ability to travel up to 50%

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, required

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience

  • Successful completion of auditor training, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001
