FirstService Residential Aquatics Supervisor in Lake Barrington, Illinois

Position: Aquatics Supervisor

Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour (seasonal)

Description This is a seasonal supervisory position a facility located in NW Illinois. The position will assist in the daily operation and supervision of the marina / beach and outdoor pool.

Work is normally performed without direct supervision and an individual must be able to exercise independent judgment in meeting various situations. This position supervises seasonal employees at the marina / beach and outdoor pool.

Examples of Essential Duties Some essential job functions include:

· Assists with the hiring and scheduling of marina / beach and outdoor pool seasonal staff.

· Operates support craft on the lake in an effort to enforce safety policies. Monitors lake and weather conditions, via observation and weather tracking applications. Assists staff in the event of an emergency.

· Assists with training and supervision of employees, coordinates and inspects work activities to ensure that schedules are met and that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with standard operating practices and procedures.

· Assists with the coordination and supervision of all functions at the marina / beach and outdoor pool.

· Coordinates the opening and closing of the marina / beach and outdoor pool.

· Assists with the coordination of the movement of boats in and out of the water.

· Assists with first aid when necessary.

· Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the beach / marina, outdoor pool and facilities.

· Assists with the collection, issuance and care of all beach / marina rental equipment.

· Regularly inspects the grounds and equipment to ensure safe conditions and reports deficiencies to the appropriate staff.

· Provides effective and efficient customer service.

Qualifications The successful candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be detail-oriented in with multi-tasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to deal tactfully with the public and should have a high level of integrity.

This position requires the candidate to be at least 18 years of age with a valid Illinois driver’s license, high school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in staff supervision, training, and the ability to demonstrate leadership in facility operations.

Experience preferred in the following: pool management, marina management, and overseeing a seasonal staff. Knowledge of various water craft is preferred but not required.

Additional Information This is a seasonal position typically scheduled to work Memorial Day through Labor Day. This position will work an average of 30 hours per week. Schedule flexibility can be arranged for the months of August & September, if required.

Lake patrol boat and water safety course must be completed upon employment and this position must also successfully complete and obtain CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid certifications within a reasonable time following employment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear; use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position will regularly work in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
