United Farmers Cooperative Ag. Equipment Operator in Lafayette, Minnesota

Need 6 full time, temporary, seasonal Ag. Equipment Operators to work at locations in Nicollet, Renville, Sibley, and McLeod Counties in Minnesota. From: 05/19/2024 to 12/01/2024 Work: 48 hrs./week, Mon. - Sat. 8 hrs./day. 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The hours may vary during different times of the crop season. All work performed in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Must Apply By: 08/26/2024 JOB DESCRIPTION: Workers will assist in two main areas on farms, for farmers: Dry Fertilizer Application and Grain Bin Erection. Prior to the application portion of the job, workers will be expected to study for and obtain a Commercial Custom Pesticide Application license, at the employer's expense. During the application portion of the job workers will: Mix dry fertilizer or other crop production products (chemicals), load truck with dry fertilizer or crop production products as well as load spraying equipment including spray applicators, tractors, and any safety equipment needed to handle the materials. Once arriving on the farm site, workers will unload all necessary equipment and materials and apply dry fertilizer with a 2014 TERREGATOR TG9300 floater or crop production products with a 2010 JOHN DEERE 4730 sprayer. Workers will also assist in maintaining farm systems and grain handling components such as grain bins, augers, dryers, etc.. Workers may operate various types of equipment such as forklifts, skid loaders, or pickup trucks to transport. During down time some shop maintenance, grounds maintenance, tractor/sprayer maintenance such as oil changes, tire changes, and other mechanical maintenance might be required. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Commercial Custom Applicator's License is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Drug screen is required due to the liability of driving heavy equipment and trucks on public roads. Failure to pass drug screen will result in termination of employment. No minimum education required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
