Sodexo is are seeking our leader for the Second and Third Shift - NIGHTS Environmental Services Custodial Manager position at the University of Louisiana Lafayette (https://louisiana.edu/about-us) . Our Successful candidate will manage the budget ethically and honestly and lead our team of 65 professionals. Our leader will demonstrate sound training skills, Floor Care Knowledge and implement excellent team building skills for our cohesive team. This position will be responsible for the SWING SHIFT 1:00pm - 9:30pm with occasional coverage for other shifts as needed, our leader will provide coverage every other weekend for special events with flex time off during those weeks. Our salary is on the HIGHER End of the posted range.

If you are a critical thinking Custodial Manager-SWING SHIFT, with the ability to develop innovative technical solutions while successfully implementing and maintaining Sodexo systems, this may be the opportunity for you!

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage the SWING SHIFT 1:00pm - 9:30pm with occasional coverage for other shifts as needed, our leader will provide coverage every other weekend for special events with flex time off during those weeks.

  • Be a safety champion

  • Work flexible schedule, leading teams on SWING AND NIGHT SHIFTS including second and third shifts

  • Train employees and provide inspections with reporting on team success and challenges

  • Provide a clean and safe environment for clients customers, visitors, and staff

  • Understand proper use of all tools including, chemicals, floor care equipment

  • Develop improvement plans for noted deficiencies

  • Provide immediate response to client concerns

  • Be a Hands-On leader, manage by example

  • Provide leadership and support for all shifts

  • Be a critical thinker, adapt to a changing environment

  • Order and maintain proper levels of supply and equipment. Departmental Fiscal Responsibility

  • Effectively manage Sodexo’s SMS system and other Operating Systems, Building supply and inventory system and track consumables of custodial supplies

  • Have ability to work independently to drive program compliance for custodial department and motivate a diverse staff and by managing through shift supervisors

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Solid leadership skills to develop and motivate a team to exceed the expectations of clients and customers and the technical execution of a housekeeping system

  • 2 years previous custodial or housekeeping supervisory and management experience preferred

  • Ability to analyze data, present and effectively communicate to all levels within the organization

  • Experience effectively managing projects within agreed upon timeliness

  • Demonstrate Innovation, naturally Solution Oriented

  • Demonstrate Team Building, Employee Engagement

  • Strong Quality Assurance Skills and attention to detail

  • Strong Computer Savvy and experience with web-based tools, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PP, Outlook and other technology
