Express Employment Claims Manager in Lacey, Washington

Express is now hiring for a Claims Manager at a local company based out of Lacey, WA. This is a Direct Hire opportunity. The schedule will be Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM. The compensation for this position will start at $55,000-$68,000/hr DOE. This company offers a fantastic benefits package to include 100% paid monthly premiums for your Medical, Dental, and Vision. They also offer a retirement plan with company match and paid time off.

 

*Job Details: *Evaluate and manage a caseload of state fund workers' compensation claims including time loss and complex medical only claims. Ability to interpret WA State RCW's and WAC's pertaining to workers' compensation in WA State. Develop strategies and action plans to move claims towards resolution. Advocate on behalf of employers to represent their interest in the claims process to all parties. Provide communication and education to employers on how L&I's policies and procedures affect their individual claims, individual rates, and the retro program (if applicable). Facilitate Return to Work efforts between the employer, doctor, and other parties as needed. Develop strategies with the employer to Represent the employer at the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals during mediation.

Additional Duties:

  • Effectively communicate actions to employers via phone calls, e-mails, and documentation including complex or difficult situations
  • Maintain accurate records of electronic claim files in the database
  • Review claim costs and estimates for accuracy
  • Coordinate claim strategy with internal staff as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to multi-task or adapt to changing work priorities
  • Ability to travel to customer's site for meetings as required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with customers and other stakeholders
  • Ability to present training to an audience is preferred
  • Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • 2+ years of workers' compensation experience is preferred, not required
