Job Summary

Maintenance Technician is a highly skilled position that involves a combination of both electrical and mechanical duties. This position may involve installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of a variety of electrical equipment including power and control wiring, motors, controls, electronic devices and building electrical maintenance. Also, this job involves installation and maintenance of electronic, analog, digital and hybrid machines plus troubleshooting of sophisticated electronic control systems. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician is involved with installation, maintenance, and alignment of production machinery, lubrication and hydraulic systems, diagnosis and repair of components, disassembly-move-reassembly of machinery and equipment, welding, piping and repair of analog, digital, hydraulic and pneumatic powered and controlled equipment and precision machinery.

Responsibilities: Skilled position to perform routine maintenance to ensure that machines and equipment continue to operate correctly

  • Requires the ability to follow established procedures and document work and complete work orders in CMMS.

-Ability to make minor repairs in process of completing work orders

-Must be able to work independently

-Ability to work at heights and confined spaces

-Ability to operate forklift, scissors lift and similar equipment

Qualifications:

Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program, or may consider equivalent technical school training in electrician or related field or equivalent OJT.

A Maintenance Technician is required to complete the full apprenticeship program to become a Journeyman. Position may be subject to successful completion of the Trane Apprenticeship Program.

Qualified candidates must have the ability to work in high places and confined spaces

Demonstrated reliability

Subject to completion of company-approved aptitude testing

May be required to pass, hold and maintain a State of Wisconsin Electrician license

Key Competencies:

  1. Utilize manuals, electrical blueprints and schematics.

  2. Perform assigned electrical and mechanical PMs.

  3. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical breakdowns on any and all company equipment.

  4. Enter and complete work orders into CMMS.

  5. Operates all hand tools – power and manual.

  6. Operates all shop equipment – familiar with CNC controls.

  7. Required to lift up to 40 pounds.

  8. Receives work instructions from a member of management or a team lead.

  9. Must follow standard work, complete production and maintenance records and other documentation related to operations.

  10. Participate in basic problem solving, 5-S, and lean activities.

  11. Demonstrate the ability to perform the above duties with no additional training required.

  12. Must meet and maintain all safety requirements.

  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
