Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer- Machining is responsible for technical support of production processes, with a focus on cnc machining and fixtures, related to the manufacturing of HVAC centrifugal chillers. In addition to providing technical support this role may require leading projects to support process improvements of moderate to significant scope as well as provide manufacturing engineering input for product design changes in production. This position is based out of our campus in La Crosse, WI and requires daily onsite presence and is considered safety-sensitive.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop processes for factory transformation projects and equipment implementation.

  • Improve productivity, quality, equipment performance, energy consumption, and downtime reduction.

  • Provide technical/subject matter expertise and guidance for the resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems.

  • Serve as a resource for cause/effect investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning. • Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality.

  • Uphold manufacturing standards including: machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings and cycle times.

  • Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.

  • Partner with on-site EHS to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA

  • Create and maintain CNC programs and related documentation for multiple machines.

  • Provide technical CNC programming input support to product engineering and factory operations for new product and process development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering discipline preferred)

• Experience in a manufacturing environment

• Project Management, Process Automation and AutoCAD or similar design software experience

• Aptitude for mechanical/electrical application as related to equipment/processes.

• Communication skills to articulate voice of the customer.

• Ability to coach, advise and develop teammates and peers.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $95,000-$125,000.
