Job Overview

The Pressed Cheese Transporter operates machinery to press out cheese from packaging in compliance with company policy related to GMP’s and Safety.

Job Responsibilities

• Create rework tags using the correct batch coding systems.

• Put away pressed out rework in proper locations.

• Scan rework tags to proper locations.

• Put away flavorings used in production and monitor area designated for the assorted flavors.

• Presses rework in proper rotation FIFO.

• Fill out all paperwork completely and correctly including name, production line number and products ran.

• Maintain area, equipment, and personal safety and sanitation.

• Productive use of down time.

• Operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently.

• Assist with training of new employees.

• All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.

• All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.

• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.

Required Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED.

• Ability to read production schedule and plan and organize workday.

• Self-motivated and can work with limited supervision.

• Ability to operate a handheld computer/scanner.

• Ability to operate various Powered Industrial Trucks.

• Ability to manage time and organize work.

• Ability to follow instructions and proper work procedures.

• Ability to analyze and solve problems.

• Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers and management.

• Ability to understand the difference between the various kinds of rework.

• Good communication skills: verbal and written.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Previous manufacturing experience.

Working Conditions

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.

• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.

• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.

• Product weight: up to 50 lbs.

• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.

• Use of motor skills to safely drive tow motors or other motorized vehicles in tight quarters.
