Making Cents International Social Media and Communications Intern in Kyiv, Ukraine

Making Cents International is seeking a Social Media and Communications Intern to work on the USAID-funded Ukraine National Identity Through Youth (UNITY) (https://makingcents.com/project/ukraine-national-identity-through-youth-unity-activity/) activity. UNITY fosters vested ownership among young people in the country’s democratic, European future by mobilizing youth leadership of a values-based conception of Ukrainian identity grounded in innovation, engagement, and pluralism. The activity is simultaneously addressing the key domains identified in USAID’s Positive Youth Development (PYD) approach (https://www.youthpower.org/positive-youth-development-pyd-framework) : building youth assets, fostering resilience, offering age-appropriate experiences for youth contribution, and strengthening the enabling environment, while intentionally and safely promoting dialogue and belonging around this pluralistic identity and incentivizing participation and leadership by historically marginalized groups. 

  Responsibilities The Social Media and Communications Intern’s tasks will include:

  • Creating engaging content about UNITY activities for social media platforms

  • Brainstorming and suggesting ideas for social media projects and other opportunities

  • Scheduling UNITY content publishing to social media

  • Assisting with monitoring social media channels and activities

  • Assisting with curating social media content for UNITY events, stand-alone campaigns, and other activities

  • Supporting various project procurement activities

  • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

  • At least 18 years old

  • Current resident of Ukraine

  • Excellent writing skills in Ukrainian and English

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work

  • Ability to work independently

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent knowledge of various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram)

Our ideal candidate is recently graduated or actively working towards a bachelor’s degree in digital communications, advertising, journalism or a similar field. 

Working Conditions

Part-time position which requires a minimum commitment of 5 hours per week for 12 weeks.
