ARAMARK Catering Services Supervisor - Kutztown University in KUTZTOWN, Pennsylvania

Job Description

Responsible for the oversight and delegation of responsibilities within a high-volume catering operation including supervision of daily events ranging in size and scale.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee assigned events and ensure all catering staff understands event timelines and details. Assigns specific job tasks when necessary and completes staff assignments sheets for larger events.

  • Ensures buffets are setup properly according to company standards, keeping in mind flow of guests, timelines, equipment, and labeling, etc.

  • Coordinates timeline, service, etc. with event contact, catering and culinary teams alongside management and has problem solving abilities.

  • Completes detailed check of all food and supplies when setting up events

  • Completes equipment pack out sheets for all catered events and ensures pack outs are properly complete and accurate in a timely manner, reports to catering director on daily basis for updates or concerns.

  • Assist and supervise daily deliveries, setups and cleanups according to daily breakdown. Timing is imperative because rooms are scheduled for meetings, classes, etc. Communicate any concerns with managers.

  • Provides excellent customer service, anticipating guests? needs

  • Ensures food quality and presentation ? work with culinary to ensure accurate timeliness of food preparation and coordination of equipment needed.

  • Use and train staff in proper service techniques per company standards

  • Ensures cleanliness of catering storage areas and supports weekly inventories

  • Enforce HACCP Guidelines: hot food hot, cold food cold, handwashing, etc

  • Responsible for overseeing proper return of equipment and food following events

  • Assists in maintaining catering equipment through use of appropriate storage and equipment handling

  • Ability to drive catering vehicles and fill in for catering support team as needed.At Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done make a positive impact for our employees and for our customers. Qualifications

  • Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions

  • Must complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year as a lead

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic

  • Maintain emotional control under stress

  • Ability to resolve interpersonal situations

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Previous experience as a supervisor or in a related role preferred

  • Requires ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Requires flexible schedule based on event hours including mornings, evenings and weekends

Minimum Education/Certification - High School Diploma/GED

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
