Job Overview:

The Senior Field Engineer prepares for and executes offshore pipeline and umbilical pre-commissioning operations.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Operations Engineer to develop pre-com execution methodologies for offshore projects

  • Provides input for the selection of the required pre-com and marine

  • Provides key inputs for engineering and planning to be developed

  • Detailed reviewing of internal and external deliverables (drawings, reports, procedures, risk assessments, scopes of work, subcontracts)

  • Define and order equipment and installation aids

  • Specify and identify suitable pre-com spreads and vessels.

  • Preparation of subcontractor scopes of works followed by the award and execution of the subcontract

  • Preparation of pre-com procedures

  • Prepare and perform constructabilities and operational risk assessments

  • Mobilize pre-com equipment and vessels to execute work scopes

  • Arrange the testing and load-out of pre-com equipment and installation aids

  • Coordinate the execution of offshore pre-com work scopes

  • Coordinate the demobilization of the pre-com equipment, marine spread and the off-hire of subcontract equipment

  • Work at site and offshore as required by the project

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • Extensive knowledge & experience of offshore EPCI / T&I projects including execution, safety management, budget control, schedule control and quality control management

  • Familiar with international codes and standards

  • Good communication, coordination and organizing skills the ability to work with minimal supervision and liaise effectively and efficiently with other team members and stakeholders

  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and integrity

  • Stakeholder Management skills - Proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external parties

  • Delivery orientated. Able to manage time and meet deadlines

  • 7 plus years of experience in the oil and gas industry working for major Contractors

  • Experience managing a team of more than 2 Engineers

  • The following experience is required –

  • General experience of all shallow and deepwater water installation operations

  • Rigid & flexible pipeline pre-commissioning experience - execution of a minimum of 4 projects

  • Umbilical pre-commissioning and controls/start-up experience - execution of a minimum of 4 projects
