What do you contribute?

Your new job as a development engineer will take you into engineering for the interior design of our modern and environmentally friendly rail vehicles. Here you will work together with experienced colleagues (f/m/d) on the design and construction of the passenger trains of tomorrow and beyond.

  • In doing so, you will develop innovative concepts and detailed technical solutions for assemblies and systems in the area of interior trim and interior fittings (e.g. driver's cab equipment, seats, sanitary facilities, furnishings) for rail vehicles.

  • You will design the responsible assemblies and systems in 3D-CAD (Creo) and coordinate the detailed design with internal and external designers and draftsmen at various international locations as required.

  • Within the scope of development, you coordinate your design with shareholders such as interface partners, project management, purchasing and manufacturing.

  • You develop and integrate mechanical and electrical subsystems, taking into account the relevant requirements and cross-cutting issues (e.g. fire protection, design), with the aim of leading the relevant trade to an overall optimum in terms of technology, costs and adherence to deadlines.

  • In cooperation with the purchasing department, you tender the manufacture of your assemblies to suppliers by means of detailed specifications and define required inspections and tests.

  • You accompany and support the assembly of the systems for which you are responsible in our production and assess new requirements from customer specifications, standards and legislation.

What do you bring along?

  • You have completed a master's degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical engineering, rail vehicle construction or industrial engineering.

  • During your studies, you have already gained initial experience in an engineering or project management-related activity, e.g. through working student activities.

  • You have basic knowledge in 3D-CAD, and ideally in SAP PLM.

  • Ideally, you have basic knowledge in rail vehicle technology and/or interior design.

  • Experience in the material fields of fiber composites, wood, metals, glass as well as with lighting systems and/or bonding technology is an advantage.

  • You have a very good command of written and spoken English, further language skills (esp. German) are a plus.
