Sakda Farm Tropical Fruit Farm Technician in Koloa, Hawaii
Be responsible for daily duties including but not limited to tropical fruit harvesting, orchard irrigation, fertilizing, weeding, pest and disease management, pruning, and general orchard maintenance. Crops can include but are not limited to mango, banana, pineapple, papaya, lychee, longan, avocado, rambutan, and other tropical fruits. Be responsible for propagating fruit trees using appropriate methods such as grafting to maintain varieties, developing new varieties with good characteristics that produce outside of the main season for better market prices; and pruning to shape fruit trees annually after harvest for maintaining tree health, productivity, and ease of harvesting in subsequent seasons. Be responsible for farm record keeping to document all activities on the farm, such as crop yields and pesticide usage, for compliance with food safety and pesticide regulations. Perform other duties when necessary.
