Sr Manager, Innovation Strategy & Execution

Opportunity

The Sr Manager – Innovation Strategy is a key position providing strategic leadership and instating a culture of innovation to help Kohler move through the Innovation Cycle.

The position will focus on helping the organization accelerate all aspects of innovation, including new business/category development and driving creative solutions that differentiate Kohler from its competitors.

Targets

  • Demonstrates strategic and creative thinking, problem solving, and individual initiative as a trusted advisor, leader, and teammate.

  • Coordinates a highly motivated TRIO relationship (Innovation team, Marketing & Industrial Design) to determine the innovation strategy & new growth opportunity areas for Kohler K&B aligned.

  • Work alongside partners to solve their biggest challenges, managing to successful project conclusions through problem solving company-wide strategy issues (product category, manufacturing, engineering, etc.).

  • Lead a team that manages disruptive innovation opportunities and help discover new growth opportunities based on consumer insights, external trends, internal technology exploration or internal ambition/capabilities.

  • Quickly assess new opportunities and ideas for business viability.

  • Provide organizational stakeholders with feedback on innovation strategy and transformational project delivery, gaining alignment at Executive level.

  • Passionately inspire associates of all levels to think bold, being an advocate of innovation across the organization.

  • Create an environment where associates of all functions feel inspired and can develop with their ideas, access market insights and quickly assess their idea’s viability.

  • Drive end-to-end innovation, ensuring projects or work-streams find a route through the business by applying logic and structure to solve ambiguous problems.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree plus 2 years of related work experience, or 6 years of related work experience in product strategy or innovation

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and team building skills

  • Systems thinking skills (able to connect dots across different concepts to generate new insights)

  • Ability to synthesize large sets of information, extract insights, and develop recommendations

  • Ability to think creatively and apply logical structuring to complex problems

  • Outstanding analytical (qualitative and quantitative), research, and presentation skills

  • Ability to succeed in both team-based and independent environments

  • Familiarity and fluency with strategic and innovation frameworks and conceptual constructs

  • High level of proficiency in developing executive level communications/presentations

  • Experience working as part of small to mid-sized teams to deliver results

Preferred:

  • Program and/or Project Management experience

  • Experience in data storytelling that drives decisions

  • 2+ years of strategic innovation experience

  • Knowledge of growth & expansion strategies and scenario/trend analysis

The salary range for this position is $138,350 - $177,900. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
