Your Role and Responsibilities

Who you are:

The IBM Automation Platform is comprised of a full stack of functionality to enable AI-powered automation capabilities for business and IT. The Automation SaaS Foundations organization is leading this strategic effort to deliver the IBM Automation Platform as cloud native as-a-service offerings. As a front-end developer of the Automation SaaS Foundations team, the candidate would be part of a dynamic and critical part of our Automation strategy and would be part of a team responsible for the agile development, testing and delivery of a number of foundational cloud native components critical to enabling the full automation experience using a continuous integation/continuous deployment model.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Overall 9+ years experience

  • Semantic HTML and modular CSS and JavaScript -

  • Cross-browser quirks and compatibility -

  • Mobile- rst, content driven responsive design and development (i.e., FlexBox, CSS Grid)

  • Progressive enhancement -

  • Leveraging APIs -

  • Testing and resolving performance concerns -

  • Building a11y and i18n ready user interfaces -

  • Team Git workflow and version control -

  • Scrum/agile software development methodologies -

  • Unix shell and command line tools -

  • Familiarity with React or similar UI frameworks

  • 1.5+ years building Kubernetes operators

  • 2+ years experience w/ Kubernetes

  • 1.5+ years experience with Golang or similar

  • 2+ years experience with Node.js or similar

  • 2+ years experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, IBM Cloud)

  • 2+ years experience using CI/CD processes

  • 2+ years experience using Git & GitHub, or similar

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 1+ years developing with HTML, CSS, JavaScript -

  • 2+ years developing high performing, accessible, responsive sites -

  • Open source contributions and community participation -

  • Advanced knowledge in server-side JavaScript (i.e., Node.js) -

  • Advanced knowledge in unit, behavioral, and end-to-end testing (i.e., Jest, Mocha)

  • Openshift experience a plus; Experience standing up and monitoring cloud services a plus
