Electrical Design Engineer - Knoxville, TN - Onsite

We are hiring a seasoned Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in the Research and Development department, focusing on the development of complex electro-mechanical instrumentation for the textile industry. The role involves architectural definition, circuit design, schematic design, PCB layout, and hardware testing. T he team includes 2 Electrical Engineers, 4 Software Engineers, and 3 Mechanical Engineers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design of instrumentation class Analog and Digital electronics utilizing operational amplifiers, FETs, BJT’s, switching and linear DC/DC supplies

  • Design of interface electronics for intelligent motors, sensors, optical detectors, illumination, and data communications, including USB and Ethernet

  • Design of complex electrical systems, made up of many electronic modules and wiring harnesses including PCs, GPUs, motors, sensors, actuators and power supplies

Skills & Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering

  • 5-7+ years of professional experience in electrical circuit design

  • Design and test of analog and digital circuits

  • Power supplies (DC/DC) expertise

  • Optical electronics experience

  • Part selection

  • Schematic capture

  • Layout of multilayer circuit boards

  • Altium designer or equivalent

  • Spice circuit analysis

*This is an office-based role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with very minimal overtime. During summer months, the schedule is four 9-hour days and a half-day on Fridays.
