Job Description

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for two a part-time Banquet Captains for ASM/Knoxville Convention Center and Worlds Fair and Exhibition Hall. Position will manage Banquet and Concessions teams in the organization, set-up, serving, and closing procedures that are assigned ensuring positive guest experience at all times. Position is involved with all functions serving any food and beverage items.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain communication with the Client, Food and Beverage Managers, Catering Sales Manager and Event Managers during events. Be on duty prior to the start of event, in uniform, well groomed, and ready to go to work. Able to read and interpret BEOs and CEOs Fulfilling the service per each Concessions Event Orders (CEO) This position oversees and is accountable for all concessions activity to include set-up, cash handling, and proper rotation of product and production procedures. Responsible for inventory: rotation, organization, and storage of product, and to ensure that all product counts are verified before, during, and after event daily. Must be able to perform all duties of each concession position as well as all Banquet positions. Supports goal for Health Department score of 90 or higher. Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. When applicable will be required to be creative in designing and creating dcor and display for merchandising of product Accountable for customer service and resolving customer complaints to the satisfaction of the guest; analyzes and resolves all guests and associate problems with the assistance and approval of supervisor. Understands and can describe menu offerings, packaging, and pricing to the team and guests. Maintaining all concessions equipment cleanliness and preventative maintenance Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities Must be able to lead, communicate, work alongside with as well as and delegate staff effectively and positively Attention to detail and consistency of procedures and processes Oversees all concessions and banquet processes Must be able to collaborate professionally with peers in other departments Ensure that team members are ready to work, well groomed, in full uniform, mentally alert, and knowledgeable regarding policies, procedures, and banquet food and beverage menu items Training and coaching per shift of concession workers, cashiers, and other banquet staff.

Must be able to work to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Must work 90% of all concession shifts scheduled including concession set-up to retain position Must or be able to obtain a TABC license within the first 60 days of hire Serve Safe certification or Food Handler Card required
