WorkSource Oregon Journeyman Millwright - Card Carrying in KLAMATH FALLS, Oregon

Use expertise in a variety of mechanical fields to troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair manufacturing systems in a heavy industrial manufacturing plant. Must be familiar with preventive maintenance, lubrication, machinery maintenance, hydraulic, air and steam applications, and proficient in welding. Journey Millwright (Oregon Journey Millwright Card Required) Position Responsibilities Ability to work in a safe manner and comply with all policies and regulations. Install machinery according to layout plans and blueprints. General repair and maintenance of plant mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Use hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools. Dismantle machinery, assemble and install equipment such as shafting and conveyors. Ability to proficiently cut and weld. Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy. Read and understand service and technical manuals. Identify opportunities for automation to support continuous process improvement and plant safety initiatives. Troubleshoot, repair, and lubricate machines and equipment. Work effectively and safely in a production environment, being flexible and completing deadlines on short notice. Communicate issues on a daily basis to the maintenance supervisor, operations supervisor, and other maintenance personnel. Complete assigned work orders. Write, update, and complete work orders as needed. Minimum Requirements: Possess a current Oregon Journey Millwright Card. Must pass a drug screen and background check. Complete an applicable aptitude test and achieve a satisfactory score. Willing to work any shift, some of which require weekend work. Verbally communicate effectively through high noise levels for one\'s own safety as well as the safety of those in the immediate area; must frequently be able to hear in, and work in, high-noise level environments and speak at levels that can be heard and understood in high-noise level environments. Must be a positive, proactive self-starter who works equally well alone as well as with others. Must have a desire to continually improve professionally and have the willingness to apply one\'s knowledge and skills to the betterment of the operating unit. Must have a good work record regarding safety, attendance, interpersonal relations, cooperativeness, and job performance. Able to learn new technology as it is introduced on the plant site and be able to transfer the knowledge to others. Proactively support innovation and change. Ability to work independently. Proficient in computer skills. Excellent listening skills. Possess the ability to lead problem-solving work sessions if asked. Must be able to perform basic arithmetic. This position may require periodic travel to assist other facilities when needed or to acquire job-related skills. Environmental Conditions / Physical Requirements: Frequently climb stairs and ladders and work in high/confined spaces in order to carry out normal job duties. Must have good eye/hand coordination. Occasionally carry up to 50 lbs. 75 feet and or up two flights of stairs. Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, reach, twist, stand, walk, climb, kneel, and carry heavy items.
