Summary You will serve as a LIFTING & HANDLING DEPARTMENT ASSISTANT in the LIFTING & HANDLING DEPARTMENT (CODE 700) of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will provide support to the Deputy Director. You will participate in departmental goals, priorities and objectives. You will forecast manpower, materials, equipment, tooling and facility needs. You will provide necessary research and investigations to gather and report facts to recommend apporpriate action. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with record keeping procedures used in supporting major industrial ship repairs, facilities, plants and equipment. Experience demonstrating a capacity for effective oral and written communication. Experience effective work-management with multiple, competing priorities. and Experience exhibiting a willingness to take on new challenges, both individually and as part of a team. Experience solving problems and overcoming roadblocks individually and in collaboration with diverse teams. Experience with project management, quality control, cost control, schedule control and workflow control techniques related to weight handling maintenance operations and; Experience investigating and analyzing practices and problems to develop effective improvements and solutions as needed.
