Employment Specialist

Provide all services related to supportive employment.

This includes: 

  • Job finding and development
  • Employer outreach and orientation
  • Job searching and development
  • Resume preparation and interview assistance
  • Job coaching and support is onsite training
  • Periodically follow-up
  • Ongoing support too maintain adequate job performance for trainee placed in competitive, integrated employment situations.

Program Specialist

This includes:

  • Coordinating and completing assessments
  • Participating in developing ISP's (Individual Support Plan)
  • ISP annual updates and ISP revisions
  • Attending ISP meetings
  • Implementing the ISP as written
  • Coordinating the services provided to the client
  • Coordinating the training of direct service workers in the content of health and safety needs
  • Supervising, monitoring and evaluating services
  • Reviewing, signing and dating monthly documentation of clients' participation and progress towards outcomes.

Qualifications:  Bachelors' Degree from an accredited college or university in rehabilitation related field and one year experience working with an individual with disabilities or an Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a rehabilitation related field and three years of experience working with an individual with disabilities.

  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs., carry, bend as required by the employer
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of the team
  • Must participate in the drug and alcohol program including pre-employment testing
  • Must have Act 34 clearances
  • Must have a valid PA driver's license
  • Must meet agency fleet guidelines with regard to motor vehicle records.

Progressive Workshop of Armstrong County is an EOE.

Knowledge of the 2390's is a plus.
