Sigma Phi Epsilon Assistant Chef in Kingston, Rhode Island

**[General Job Requirements[: Follows standardized recipes and prep lists for daily need to feed roughly 50 people for lunch and dinner. Prepares and cooks food products, timely and efficiently, alongside cooks, as needed. Cools, refrigerates, labels, and properly stores food and ingredients according to health code requirements. Utilizes appropriate cleaning procedures for assigned duties so that products are acquired, maintained, and stored according health code requirements. Prepares kitchen for daily set up and stocking as well as assists with serving food at stations, as needed. Organizes the prep boards based on needs of operation and delivery schedules. Adjusts work, as needed, while prepping because of changing needs. Performs other duties as assigned. Performs all duties as requested by head Chef. The Assistant Chef is responsible for helping with lunch and serving dinners. They are also responsible for final cleaning including dishes, surfaces, floor, and trash. They will be responsible for locking up the kitchen at the end of each shift. Maintaining the kitchen, storage rooms, and related areas in a clean condition at all times.

**[Education Requirements: One-year experience as a Cooks Helper or experience that demonstrates mastery of the tasks of cook as described. Ability to operate all kitchen equipment correctly and safely. Must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Experience working in prep and/or dishwasher or other related experience. Obtain prior and maintain food safety managers' certification approved by Conference for Food Protection (e.g., ServSafe) Ability to work evenings and weekends. Performs other tasks as requested.
