Description

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a day habilitation setting and within the community.

Pecora Day Habilitation is located in Kingston. This bustling day hab supports people who have a wide range of interests and hobbies, with an emphasis on encouraging individual choice and responsibility.

DSPs inspire the people who attend this day hab to take part in the development and design of their program needs which will lead them toward life goals and ambitions. People supported may choose to spend time in one of the classrooms working on a variety of activities, or participate in outings into the community. Some of the activities may include arts and crafts, plant care, cooking, playing games, volunteering, socializing with friends, and enjoying a local park or library.

DSPs working here support and encourage these wonderful people to learn, grow, and develop skills so they can realize their full potential. Whatever each day brings, DSPs at Pecora Day Hab should be energetic, compassionate and truly enjoy making a difference in the lives of the people supported.

HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday/8:00 am to 4:00 pm

STARTING SALARY: $ 17.01 to $ 18.72 per hour

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred - post-high school education in Human Services is a definite plus

  • Acceptable NYS Driver's License

  • Computer skills
