About You

The ability to work in highly effective teams is essential for success in this role. As a self-motivated member of the Diageo USVI Operations Team, you will provide support, training and mentor to your fellow team members, positively impacting team members, and inspiring and engaging others. You will also work closely with cross-functional departments (Engineering, Risk, Quality, Maturation, Logistics, and Procurement) to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the facility.

Top Accountabilities:

  • Operating the facility per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).

  • Monitoring and controlling the process.

  • Identifying and correcting deviations from standard process parameters.

  • Reacting to abnormal conditions, breakdowns, and emergencies.

  • Maintaining accurate process and inventory records.

  • Adhering to our Code of Business Conduct (COBC) policies.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Continually improving distillery operations and maintaining product quality to standard.

  • Meeting or exceeding operational goals and site Key Performance Indicators.

  • Optimizing yield and minimizing waste on assigned unit(s).

  • Traverse up to 8 flights of stairs at least twice a shift to complete unit inspection and/or sampling.

  • Lift 50lb ingredient bags in repetitive motion multiple times per shift.

  • Complete walk about inspections across the distillery at least twice a shift or as needed.

  • Any other tasks as needed to meet production demands.

Required Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum 18 years of age. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • Minimum of two years relevant process operating experience and/or the equivalent process technical training with demonstrated achievements.

  • Demonstrated teamwork capability and can-do attitude.

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and dedication to safety.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-pace, fast paced environment.

  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

  • All employment offers are contingent on the successful completion of a background check and pre-employment medical exam.

Additional Qualification & Experience a Plus:

  • Four years meaningful experience working in any of the following processes: Fermentation, Distillation, Evaporation, Water Treatment, Fire Tube Boilers, Turbine, and/or Heat Recovery Steam Generator.

  • Associate degree in Process Technology or equivalent certification.

  • Knowledge of Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) or Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing Methods, and ISO 9000 Standards.

Barriers to Success in Role:

  • Inability to follow process protocols or meet the physical demands of the role.

  • Reluctance to work in a team environment.

  • Poor record keeping or documentation abilities.

  • Failure to react to change in processes and adapt to new/updated procedures.

  • Failure to enforce to Diageo USVI standards and Code of Business Conduct (COBC) policies.
