JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of the position: To manage the Quality function to support the production of products which meet or exceed customer expectations in the most safe, efficient and economical manner possible, consistent with our customer commitments, Mission Statement and User Guide principles.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

Maintain a safe working environment at all times, including housekeeping, enforcement of safety rules and monitoring of safety performance and activities.

  1. Support innovative hiring and training procedures and provide leadership to employees quality efforts:

- - lead by example. - Staff quality positions with qualified , competent employees to accomplish key quality objectives. - Provide training to develop employees abilities to support the plants quality program, meeting or exceeding goals. - Set goals and conduct performance reviews; motivate employees to reach or exceed department and individual goals. Promote positive recognition. - Maintain accountability among employees and conduct counseling and discipline as needed

  1. Assure compliance to all product specifications by working closely with all manufacturing areas.

- - Provide written and/or visual quality specifications. - Communicate with clients and customers and coordinate customer visits. - Provide feedback to manufacturing on quality issues. - Measure key quality indicators and publish results. - Conduct a Quality Audit Meeting - Quarterly. - Communicate and track quality needs and issues from internal and external providers. - Coordinate testing of new products and components. - Maintain quality policies, manuals and updates.

  1. Oversee and coordinate sales forces Universal Feedback Forms (UFF). Communicate results to manufacturing managers/supervisors.
  2. TEAMWORK: Support efforts by all members of the American Woodmark team to continuously improve departmental, location, operations and company performance. Actively promote use of Users Guide principles and tools.
