A Brief Overview

The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS) at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a pediatric psychologist for our Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.The psychologist will join an established psychosocial team in GI that includes pediatric psychologists, social workers, and child life specialists. The psychologist will provide primarily outpatient clinical care, consultation, and training in collaboration with the Division of Gastroenterology and faculty from the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS) at CHOP's Specialty Care Sites in Pennsylvania (King of Prussia, PA and Brandywine Valley, PA). This role will provide in-person and telehealth treatment services for a variety of gastrointestinal presentations that include functional abdominal pain, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, and constipation. This is a primarily clinical position, although there are opportunities for clinical research and program development in collaboration with the Division of Gastroenterology and DCAPBS. The psychologist will participate in the department's APA-accredited Psychology Internship Training Program as well as GI Psychology Externship and Postdoctoral Fellowship Programs.Faculty appointment at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania on the Academic Clinician Track is strongly encouraged.

What you will do Clinical Activity Provide comprehensive screening, assessment, and treatment services to children and families seen by the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in outpatient Pennsylvania Specialty Care settings, and communicates with referral sources as indicated. Perform clinical services at a percent of effort as designated by the supervisor. Adhere to DCAPBS productivity standards. In settings where patients are scheduled, present an EPIC schedule that rolls out three (3) months in advance delineating availability and anticipated vacation and conference time. The schedule must include enough openings to cover productivity expectations plus anticipated late cancellations/no-shows. Assure that professional practice is by applicable professional and licensing body standards. Follow all CHOP and DCAPBS policies and procedures regarding clinical and administrative activity for direct patient care. Collaboration Collaborate with DCAPBS and other Department/Division colleagues to ensure that patients receive the care required by patient circumstances. Respond to requests for consultation and service promptly. Participates in DCAPBS and CHOP Gastroenterology Psychosocial Services committees. Works collaboratively with DCAPBS Division of Integrated Psychiatry, Psychology, and Behavioral Health coordinators and financial counselors to ensure patients are sc eduled appropriately. Teaching Regularly supervises trainees and is responsible for the training of interns as appropriate. Lectures and provides training in other disciplines. Develops curricula as appropriate. Other Complete all mandatory education requirements and annual PPD testing and vaccinations as per CHOP policy.

Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Required Doctorate Psychology Required

Experience Qualifications APA or CPA Accredited internship training is Required and Completed post-doctoral training in child and adolescent-focused psychology is required

Licenses and Certifications Licensed Psychologist (Pennsylvania) - State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required
