CITIZENS BANK Bookkeeping Associate in Kilgore, Texas

Summary of Position

Reports to designated bank officer and will be responsible for answering the phone, relaying incoming calls and performing related customer service. Assist customers by providing information and taking messages as required. Responsible for learning all areas of the bookkeeping department.

Essential Functions:

  1. Answer incoming calls, greeting callers, providing information, transferring calls and/or taking messages as necessary.
  2. Provides optimum customer service over by phone.
  3. Relay and route written and verbal messages.
  4. Sort, print and distribute daily reports.
  5. Review daily reports on overdraft accounts and perform outgoing calls to customers on overdraft accounts.
  6. Import and process overdraft files daily.
  7. Process ACH's including but not limited to balance, rejects and disputes.
  8. Process wire transfers both incoming and outgoing.
  9. Process all debit card disputes.
  10. Prepare and process return items in process for all Banking centers.
  11. Clear out non posted items daily and make general ledger entries.
  12. Responsible for reporting into systems as necessary including but not limited to APR/Efunds (for collections) and JMFA (daily reporting program).
  13. Provide back-up to cash management processing.
  14. Provide back-up to positive pay.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  1. Punctuality and good attendance are a must.
  2. Strong customer service skills are a must.
  3. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
  4. Ability to write legibly and speak clearly.
  5. Ability to work in a team environment.
  6. Must be willing to cross train in multiple job duties and tasks.
  7. Must be able to operate office equipment including information management tools (Windows applications, database, etc.).
  8. Ability to work in a fast pace environment and handle multiple tasks.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 3 years banking experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Excellent customer service skills. Advanced computer skills. Proficient in multi-tasking. Working knowledge of window-based computer programs including Excel and Outlook. Ability to investigate and resolve issues with a high degree of accuracy. Detail orientated. Be a quick thinker and work in a fast-paced environment.
