Description

Summary: Provides Clinical Services to consumers in criminal justice programs

Job Duties:

  • Carries caseload of approximately 25

  • Maintains clear and informative charts as per Clinic guidelines

  • Appropriately diagnoses clients and updates as necessary in conjunction with Program QIP

  • Works with client to develop and implement treatment plans

  • Refers clients to mental health services when appropriate

  • Consults with psychiatrist on shared clients' medication compliance and effectiveness

  • Coordinates client needs and consults with case manager when appropriate

  • Conducts group therapy as scheduled

  • Represents Clinic in court proceedings as needed

  • Conducts monthly individual sessions

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

Certifications/Licensures:

  • Certification as a CAP or MCAP, in good standing by an agency approved and recognized by the Florida Certification Board is preferred at time of hire;Preference will be given to those candidates who are currently Certified;

  • Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or related field is required

Experience and Competencies:

  • Two years of related work experience in Mental Health, and / or Substance Abuse field preferred

  • Ability to meet requirements of Monroe County Sheriffs Office background check

  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an annual Tuberculosis test.

  • Ability to provide an Affidavit of Good Moral Character

  • Clearance in Pre-Employment Drug Testing and Criminal Records Checks, as required.
