Southern Southeast Regional Aquaculture, Inc. Lead Maintenance Technician in Ketchikan, Alaska

[The Southern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association (SSRAA) has two openings for a Lead Maintenance Technician with the Facilities and Infrastructure Department and will consider a maintenance technician and train.

[SSRAA operates seven hatcheries and several remote release sites within southern Southeast Alaska. This department serves all of SSRAA. This position is based in Ketchikan, AK. This position will work on projects at other SSRAA remote facilities which will involve travel by boat or small aircraft. Desired skills include knowledge of construction techniques including: carpentry, welding, plumbing, basic electrical, maintaining preventative maintenance records, use of hand and power tools, and project planning. In addition to maintenance responsibilities, this position may, on occasion, assist with various fish culture activities and will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.

[The ideal candidate must have the ability to develop healthy working relationships with vendors, contractors, co-workers, other SSRAA departments, and have the willingness to [share knowledge and skills. The successful candidate must have or be able to obtain an Alaska Drivers License and all applicants may undergo a background check.

Starting wage range is $20.29/hr-30.75/hr DOE. Benefits include: health, dental, life, long-term disability insurance, participation in a 403b retirement plan, and personal and sick leave accrual. Positions within the Facilities and Infrastructure Department will be required to submit to pre-employment drug screening.
