Job Description

Job Summary:

Incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies in support of KIC staffing and operations objectives. Incumbent will utilize the specialized, multidisciplinary recruiting, advertising and marketing strategies for sourcing and referring qualified applicants to multiple programs. Recruitment methods include but not limited to on-line, outsourcing, and internal/external, opportunities.

Will assist HR Director with job description, performance evaluation processes, and coordination of HR events as requested.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Recruiting for open positions and working in constant communication with management to assess needs for critical vacancies and future needs;

  • Developing effective recruiting plans and strategies, sourcing applicants through various methods including advertising, job sites, career fairs, universities, etc.

  • Ensuring the appropriate requirements and approvals are received to post and recruit positions;

  • Posting all positions through job boards and KIC Applicant Tracking System and routing responses to designated personnel;

  • Maintaining an applicant tracking database;

  • Maintaining proactive communication with key contacts at KIC partners, universities, and other medical industries that are identified as potential partners;

  • Contacting and screening selected applicants;

  • Conducting preliminary reference checks;

  • Assists with checking applicant’s appropriate licensure or certification requirements are commensurate with job responsibilities;

  • Preparing agendas, travel/hotel/car rental arrangements for interviewees;

  • Assist in the selection of interview panel participants and interview questions in alignment with standards and best practices;

  • Photocopying and distributing materials to interview team;

  • Offering position to selected applicant with appropriate approvals;

  • Documenting interviews and job offers;

  • Maintaining records of applications, resumes, and supporting documents from interviews and screening;

  • Recording statistics and closing open positions on all advertised locations; Assisting with development of retention strategies.

  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred;

  • Exhibit knowledge of hiring practices, behavioral-based interview techniques, tracking processes for applicants and open positions and recruiting metrics;

  • Networking skills with the ability to build talent pools and support the recruitment process; results oriented;

  • Knowledge of internet recruitment opportunities;

  • Knowledge of office equipment and limited maintenance;

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet computer application skills;

  • Knowledge and ability to carry out rules of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which protects employee rights;

  • Ability to communicate professionally over the telephone and in person in a positive and clear manner;

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all Tribal operations and staff;

  • Works well under pressure and time constraints; and

  • Must be able to travel as required.

Physical Demands

Must be able to hear. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; and taste or smell. Each of the listed activities also requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, and stooping,

Writing by hand and using a personal computer. Long hours in front of computer screen. Attending evening and lunch time meetings as requested by the supervisor. Traveling occasionally, using air and/or water transportation, to out-of-town meetings and functions.

Licenses:

Possess a current and valid driver's license with a record acceptable to KIC’s Insurance carrier.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in management or human resources plus two years mid-level human resource experience preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree.

Any combination of related education and/or related experience will be considered if the candidate possesses the demonstrated ability.
