Job Description

Do you enjoy working with your hands? Do you have experience with multi-unit housing? Are you a jack of all trades? We have the position for you! Our housing maintenance technician provides maintenance for employee housing while ensuring compliance with state rules and regulations.

You will:

  1. Inspect multiple housing units following a comprehensive facility maintenance checklist; perform preventative maintenance repairs

  2. Respond to maintenance work orders; troubleshoot and perform minor electrical, carpentry, and plumbing services

  3. Collaborate with tenants to review and resolve open maintenance issues

  4. Maintain communication with dispatch; report steps taken for work order resolution

  5. Respond to corporate project requests; resolve issues and report findings to supervisors

  6. Communicate with multiple teams and management on a weekly or monthly basis to ensure compliance and consistency regarding housing projects

  7. Advise managers of maintenance concerns and ensure creation of work order requests

  8. Utilize various computer systems to track and report maintenance requests

  9. Participate in company sponsored safety training classes

  10. Maintain own technical knowledge on all equipment within area of responsibility

  11. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level

  12. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Qualifications

You have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required

  • Trade or vocational school preferred

  • Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record required

  • Minimum five years’ preventive or apartment maintenance experience required

  • Prior experience with electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems preferred

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills

  • Basic understanding of construction practices including plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical

  • Intermediate mathematical skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate and work both on a team or independently with minimal supervision

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with tenants

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Work with electric and plumbing systems

  • Able to use hand tools

  • Exposure to a variety of weather conditions and temperatures

  • Able to bend, stoop, twist, crawl
