Temporary Summer Technician

Intertek is searching for a Summer Temporary Technician to join our Transportation Technologyteam in our Kentwood, MI office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about a versatile career in the Testing, Inspection and Certification industry!

The Temporary Technician is responsible for, under direct supervision, duties related to routine testing and general lab support.

Schedule: May - August 40 hours per week, day shift

What you'll do: Prepare and setup test samples and test equipment. Operate equipment and perform testing in accordance with approved test plan. Obtain and record test data in accordance with standards. Perform routine calculation and analysis of test data; notify project lead of test failures and/or inconsistencies if applicable. May draft test reports. Assist with maintaining equipment and lab facilities. Perform other work as required.5-10 bullet points of duties

What it takes to be successful in this role: High school diploma or GED; some post high school education preferred Ability to utilize basic shop equipment and various hand tools Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment Strong communication skills, in both verbal and written formats Must be quality focused and customer driven Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook Lift, pull or push up to 25 pounds. Standing, crawling, crouching, kneeling Work standing most of the day
