Job Summary:

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor supervises workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is also responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the shipping/receiving department, managing their direct reports, and handling general reporting/paperwork as needed.

This is a first shift position.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage 4-8 direct reports.
  • Evaluate direct reports on performance, discipline, and be part of the hiring process.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervises employees involved in loading and unloading materials, checking invoices, pulling stock, operating material handling equipment, and other warehouse and delivery duties.
  • Assist Shipping/Receiving personnel with material/product receipts and shipment requirements.
  • Maintain Scheduling and Delivery Performance information in accordance with ISO Quality guidelines.
  • Investigate shipping/receiving discrepancies.
  • Test and license fork truck drivers
  • Schedule trucks as needed.
  • Approve work hours in payroll system.
  • Assist with relevant Internal/External Corrective Actions
  • Strive to meet established goals and objectives, and for ongoing Continuous Improvement and Cost Reductions ideas.
  • Focus on safety, adherence to safety policies and continuous attention to housekeeping for the work area and facility.
  • Maintains shipping records.
  • Review records for information accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
  • Provide written and oral instructions and improve efficiency of Shipping and receiving subordinates.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance procedures for inbound shipments are being followed.
  • Supervise compliance of shipping and receiving practices with established company policies and standards.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent

Experience in a manufacturing environment
