Aston Carter Human Resources Generalist in Kent, Washington

(Description)

Large manufacturing company in Kent, WA is hiring for an HR Generalist. In this role, you'll be at the heart of the HR operations, working closely with the HR Manager to support the business unit.

Pay: $70k - $85k (depending on overall qualification including tenure, job title, industry...etc.)

Schedule: (Standard M-F Morning Shift; 100% Onsite)

Location: Kent, WA

6 Months Contract To hire

(Typical Day Responsibilities)

• In this role, you'll be at the heart of our HR operations, working closely with the HR Manager to support our business unit

• Talent Management: Partner with the HR Manager to handle full cycle recruiting, maintain job descriptions, and ensure inclusive hiring practices

• Employee Relations: Provide HR guidance, support conflict resolution, and develop programs to boost employee engagement

• HR Administration and Total Rewards: Handle payroll, benefits administration, leave programs, and ensure compliance with laws and company policies

• Collaborative Style: Engage stakeholders in problem-solving and decision-making

• Strong knowledge of employment law and regulations

• Excellent communication and analytical skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems

• Commitment to EHS: Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety standards

• Demonstrated knowledge of employment law, regulations, and statutes

• Effective prioritization, organization, and judgment considering risk/reward and legal requirements

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

• Willingness to travel less than 5%

• Provides support and counseling to employees regarding job-related conflicts, problem solving, and dispute resolution

• Develops solutions and programs to increase employee engagement, including scheduling events, employee recognition programs, service award programs, flu clinics, etc

• Manages employee recognition and service awards, administering surveys promptly• Authorized to work in the United States

• Consults with line management providing HR guidance when appropriate

• Partners with the HR Manager and Corporate Talent team to manage full cycle recruiting, maintaining job descriptions and FLSA classifications, tracking key talent acquisition metrics, and conducts exit interviews

• Sitting on a board of HR. Must be ok with speaking confidently to all levels of people

(MUST HAVEs & Qualifications)

For this opportunity, candidates must be comfortable submitting to a Drug Test upon offer

  • (Must Have) 3-5 years of relevant HR experience

  • (Must Have) Proficiency in Excel

  • (Must Have) Proficiency with HRIS systems and a good balance of experience HR experience

  • ( Must Have ) Manufacturing or construction industry experience (comfortability working in a blue collar environment)

  • ( Must Have ) Must have SHRM Certification

  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law, regulations, and statutes

Compensation is tied to the Colorado and Washington markets for jobs performed in Colorado and Washington. Other locations may be subject to variances based on location-related factors.
