Intertek Field Technician - Building Products Testing in Kent, Washington

Field Testing Technician

Intertek is searching for a Field Technician, Building Products Testing to join our Building & Construction team in our Kent, WA office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in building products testing!

The Field Testing Technician is responsible for field testing activities including testing, reports, and maintaining client relationships.

What you’ll do:

  • Carry out field testing on fenestration products (windows, curtain walls, storefronts, etc) in accordance with the relevant AAMA/ASTM standards

  • Document testing with data sheets and photos

  • Coordinate with the report writer to complete field test reports in a timely manner

  • Ensure project documents are maintained properly in the company database

  • Monitor field testing supply levels and coordinate ordering supplies

  • Other duties as assigned

    What it takes to be successful in this role:

  • High School or GED, Associates Degree preferred

  • Experience testing fenestration products to AAMA/ASTM standards

  • Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently, occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance

  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally

  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)

  • Ability to climb and work from ladders

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)

The base wage or salary range for this position is $25 to $30 per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
