Position: Outbound Team Lead – 2nd Shift

Reports To: Outbound Supervisor

Position Summary: The main focus of this position will be to assist the shift supervisor in efficiently running our warehouse operations. This position will assist with leading and directing the shift regarding most operational aspects, along with filling in when the supervisor is not available or in the facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure your personal safety and the safety of others working around you.

  • Partner with the leadership team to drive efficient inventory practices and quality at all levels.

  • Direct all shift material handlers.

  • Assist in coaching & developing the shift employees.

  • Responsible for shift system inputs & inventory accuracy, including drop audits.

  • Support PEAK initiatives and own systems when assigned.

  • Communicate input into needed employee recognition, discipline & performance reviews.

  • Communicate and inform Supervisor of all daily activities.

  • Answer material handler questions and keep a daily log of any issues that arise.

  • Promote a positive and safe work environment, including driving 5S adherence & STOP audits.

  • Coordinate the completion of Powered Industrial Truck Training & Re-Certifications.

  • Perform forklift battery checks and verify forklift sheets completion daily.

  • Operate forklift and clamp when needed.

  • Monitor time & approve payroll timesheets in the system when the supervisor is out of the office.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Climate:

Fast-paced team environment with constant interruptions, quick communications regarding business goals, extensive short-term planning based on established/changing priorities, ongoing problem solving, and some irregular hours required.

Minimum Qualification:

  • 2-3 years of experience in distribution/logistics.

  • Physically able to bend, squat, twist, climb, reach and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

  • Strong PKMS/SAP & math skills.

  • Required to read & write in English.

  • Communicate well with others, able to follow written & verbal instructions.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Accuracy, attention to detail & organizational skills.

  • Team-oriented, self-motivated with a positive attitude.

  • Must have demonstrated some leadership abilities.

  • Must have satisfactory performance and attendance records.
